Sharp
Conference Management service
The Sharp Conference Management System is a set of XML Web serivces that assist in the management of applications. It includes objects like:
- Event
- Person
- Registrations
- Locations
This product will soon be registered with Versign as a .NET Connected Application - it is developed in .NET and exposes the necessary methods to maintain the above objects.
Since the framework is based on open standards, the user interface can be anything needed. ASP.NET Web pages, Windows forms, mobile applications and office application all can easily be made to manage the same conference materials.
Sharp isn't done - it is coming soon. I plan for it to be available in the Spring of 2005.
Ink Search
This little gadget is just designed to take ink input and send it directly to the Google Search Engine using your default browser.
The tool is for Tablet PCs, and uses .NET 2.0 Beta 1, as well as XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 and Tablet SDK 1.7.
It is a free download - just like the Security DLL. Documentation - and how I did it - can be found in the new Visual Basic .NET For Dummies coming out in the summer.
Simple Visual Basic
Encryption with the CryptoAPI
The WinApiSecurity DLL is a single class file with two methods:
- Encrypt(TextToEncrypt, Password)
- Decrypt(TextToDecrypt, Password)
It uses the Windows CryptoAPI for it's access to the encryption features of Windows. You'll need Visual Basic Runtime for VB 6, and IE5 or greater to use it in your applications, but other than that feel free to use it for whatever. It's a giveaway. In fact, I wrote an article about its creation on TechRepublic, please check it out, if you are a member.
I'll write some more documentation her later, but it is pretty simple to use. Just look at the sample.
